Cancer Treatments
Head and Neck Oncology
The otolaryngologists at OAT have been providing compassionate and team-based oncology care to patients throughout Middle Tennessee for generations. Head and neck cancers often begin in the soft cells that line the mouth, nose, and throat and are often called squamous cell carcinomas of the head and neck. Our physicians treat cancers of the sinuses, ears, mouth, tongue, tonsil, skin, throat, voicebox, and salivary glands. Using a team-based approach, we work closely with oncologists and radiation oncologists to develop the best possible treatment plan for your cancer.
At OAT, we participate in the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck tumors as well in the surveillance and quality of life measures following treatment. Whether you are in remission or are concerned that you may have cancer of the head or neck, OAT can help.
Common Symptoms of Neck Tumors and Conditions
Because head and neck cancers can spread rapidly, it’s important to take a proactive approach to your health. For a fast, accurate, and expert diagnosis, rely on the specialists at OAT. You should contact your physician immediately if you’re experiencing a lump or sore that won’t heal, white or red patches on your gums, unusual swelling, changes in your voice or hoarseness, a sore throat that won’t go away, or you’re experiencing difficulty or pain with swallowing.
